Why do pets matter to Chris Roy, Founder of Doobert.com?
"Each pet has an individual personality and is uniquely different from other animals showing just how sentient they are. They matter to me because of this consciousness, awareness, and ability to love, grieve and experience joy and sorrow just like humans. They communicate to us in their own ways, and we embrace their love and grieve their loss when they are gone. They are more than pets, they are family."
Chris just launched an online store called Doobert Forward, where you can shop for your pet's food, treats, and other supplies while helping your favorite rescues at the same time. A percentage of every sale is donated to the non-profit animal wellness organization of your choice! It’s easy to do, and it won't cost you a thing.
While similar to Amazon Smile, Doobert donates 5% of your purchase to the organization(s) of your choice. That's substantially more than Amazon Smile gives.
The store has many different products, and they're adding more distributors and products all the time!
If your preferred rescue or shelter isn't listed, be sure to let them know about the store and tell them to go to Doobert.com to apply to become a partner so they can benefit from the shop or one of the other services that doobert.com offers free of charge.

During this episode of "Why Do Pets Matter?" Professor Delcianna Winders speaks with us about the incredible work she is doing in the world of animal advocacy and animal law.
Pets matter because they are sentient beings — and other animals, including billions of animals suffering on factory farms with inadequate legal protections, matter for the same reason.
Human, animal, and environmental interests are intertwined.
The Animal Law and Policy Institute is training future leaders in animal advocacy while centering animals in the fight for environmental protection
About Delci Winders:
Professor Delcianna (Delci) Winders is the founding director of Vermont Law School’s Animal Law and Policy Institute, which trains future leaders in animal advocacy while centering animals in the fight for environmental protection.
Prior to joining the VLS faculty, Winders was on the faculty of Lewis & Clark Law School, where she directed the world’s first law school clinic dedicated to farmed animal advocacy.
She previously served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at the PETA Foundation, the first Academic Fellow of the Harvard Animal Law & Policy Program, and a visiting scholar at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University.
Winders has also taught animal law at Tulane University School of Law and Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.

Doug Poynter from BetterDogBehaviorNow.com joins us for a conversation about the things you can do with your dog to raise consciousness for both of you. This helps both of you have a much better relationship with one another. Plus we're discussing the things you are (inadvertently) doing that are creating your dog's behavior issues.
